The 2012 Irish Winter Festival sponsored by Paddy Power takes place on the Irish bank holiday long weekend in October. The full schedule for the live poker festival was released a few weeks ago and satellites are in full force at the moment. The main event at the Irish Winter Festival isn’t that big, but the festival has become popular for the side events and entertainment every year.
The exact dates of the 2012 Irish Winter Festival are October 26th 2012 to October 29th 2012. The Irish Winter Festival is going to be hosted at the Burlington Hotel in Dublin, Ireland. Last year the main event winner (John Keown) took home €100K after he outlasted the playing field of 395 poker players in Dublin.

A new side event this year is the “NLH Doubles Event” that has a buy-in of €55 per player. Each player needs to partner up with a team mate and each player will rotate playing each level of the tournament. This side event is going to be a ton of fun. Another big tournament is the Mythical Championship on Monday that many players participate in to end the long weekend.
2012 Irish Winter Festival Satellites
Numerous poker rooms are hosting satellites to the 2012 Irish Winter Festival including Titan Poker and William Hill Poker, but no poker room is offering a better deal than Paddy Power Poker. Players that qualify to the main event through Paddies will be able to participate in the “Six Survivors” promotion that isn’t being offered anywhere else.
The top six finishers in the 2012 Irish Winter Festival that qualify through Paddy Power Poker will win a free seat into next year’s main event at the Irish Winter Festival (2013) for free. If you happen to win your seat this year before September 1st you’ll also be able to claim a €50 free bet that you can use to place a bet in the Paddy Power Sportsbook.
