As the US plans for their day of uncontrolled gluttony the rest of the world will chug along, and the poker world, as always, will also likely be in full swing, holiday or not. Leading up to Thanksgiving there have been plenty of stories taking place across the poker world, and I’ll do my best to relay them to you before the turkey-induced-coma clouds my head.
DOJ update that’s not an update on remission process
Perhaps the Poker Players Alliance relayed to the US DOJ how important it was to at least communicate with the poker world in their meeting last week, considering the DOJ released its first update n months on the remission process for US Full Tilt Poker players. While the update is little more than an update about a possible future update, at this point any recognition is good news for players –especially with players from around the world not only having been repaid by PokerStars but once again playing on Full Tilt Poker!
November 20, 2012—Victim Update. The United States Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York is evaluating applicants for the position of Claims Administrator to handle petitions for remission for U.S. victims of the alleged fraud that Full Tilt Poker committed relating to player funds. The United States Attorney’s Office expects that the Claims Administrator will be selected and begin work in January 2013.

Negreanu tells heartfelt story and talks integrity in poker
In his most recent vlog, Daniel Negreanu revealed a story from his formative days as a teenager in Canada, using the tale as segue into a serious talk about integrity in poker, especially with people who owe money. The story gives a good indication of how Daniel became the man he is today, as well as explaining why he is somewhat hypocritical when it comes to people in the poker world who are not of the highest character. The video is a must see (if for nothing else to get a glimpse of Kid Poker’s new shaved head) and can be found at his YouTube channel:
