The Players Poker Championship (PPC) is going to be back in Aruba in the next couple months. The PPC is going to host a series of poker tournaments in Aruba at the Westin Resort & Casino. No poker tournaments have been hosted on the island of Aruba since the Ultimate Bet Aruba Poker Classic was cancelled after 2009. The PPC has been working hard to bring poker back to the island of Aruba and I’m sure the event will be a success, as UB had a big turnout in 2009.
Sandy Swartzbaugh and Bryan Oulton are the commissioners of the Players Poker Championship and they have big plans for the poker series and hope they can expand the series this year. If the PPC Aruba tournament series is a success this May both of the PPC commissioners want to expand the poker series in other parts of the Caribbean. It had been reported that the PPC wants to host up to six poker tournaments annually with two events being hosted in Aruba although everything is still up in the air.
Oulton stated in an interview that he expects the PPC Aruba Main Event to draw in a field of 100 – 300 poker players. I think they can hit closer to the top of their expected range of 300 poker players, as they’ve done a lot of advertising. Satellites are even being hosted in Florida throughout the month of April. - May 5th 2012 at 9PM – $300 + $30 NLHE 2nd Chance Turbo
- May 6th 2012 at 12PM – May 7th 2012 – $1000 + $100 NLHE Mix-Max Event
- May 6th 2012 at 9PM – $300 + $30 NLHE 2nd Chance Turbo
- May 7th 2012 at 12PM – $500 + $50 NLHE Turbo Deepstack
The PPC Aruba schedule is jam packed and there will be plenty of action at the Westin Resort & Casino. Aruba is one of the best islands in the world for a vacation and that’s the main reason the PPC has decided to host an event in Aruba. Poker players love to play in live poker events, but the events in tropical tourist destinations tend to have the best response from players. If you want to get some live poker in before this year’s WSOP you should take the short flight to Aruba for the PPC.
