Party Poker hosted the inaugural PokerFest Event in October of 2011. PokerFest I featured 47 championship tournaments and the guaranteed prize pool for the entire series was $3M. Party Poker has kept the number of championship tourneys unchanged, as there is going to be 47 championship events hosted again. However, Party Poker increased the guaranteed prize pool in the series to $3.5M and you can bet that there will be plenty more than the guaranteed $3.5M up for grabs.
PokerFest II will be hosted at Party Poker from April 22nd 2012 to May 6th 2012. There are 47 “championship tournaments” during the PokerFest II Event plus there will be many different side events to play in daily. The side events are inexpensive and will have unique formats, so if you want to mix things up during the grind of PokerFest II you should play in a few of the side events. You can check out the full schedule of tournaments at Party Poker, but we’ll look at a few of the main tournaments below.

• Event #47 Sunday May 6th 2012 – $640 NL Holdem Main Event with a $1M GTD Prize Pool
• Event #26 Sunday April 29th 2012 – $1060 NL Holdem with a $450K GTD Prize Pool
• Event #1 Sunday April 22nd 2012 – $215 NL Holdem with a $350K GTD Prize Pool
There are plenty of other great tournaments to play in during Party Poker PokerFest II. Make sure you check out the schedule and if you plan on playing in a lot of the tournaments you should try qualifying to the events to save money. Party Poker will be running tons of satellites tournaments to PokerFest II tournaments. You can qualify to the major PokerFest II tournaments for a few bucks or in some cases using Party Poker Points.
Party Poker PokerFest II Jackpots & Leaderboards
Not only will you have the chance to win tons of money by cashing in the tournaments, Party Poker is also offering jackpots and leaderboards during PokerFest II. There are three different leaderboards based on the buy-in level.
• Party Poker Points Buy-In – $2500 Leaderboard – Top 250 players win cash prize – $250 to 1st Place
• Low Buy-In ($6-$33) – $15,000 Leaderboard – Top 500 players win cash prize – $1250 to 1st Place
• High Buy-In ($55+) – $32,500 Leaderboard – Top 500 players win cash prize – $2500 to 1st Place
Party Poker also has five jackpot prizes that players can win. The jackpot prizes include cash, iPads and live tournament prize packages to the 2012 WSOP. The main jackpot is awarded to any player that wins 3 PokerFest II championship events and the prize is $20,000 cash plus a $14,000 prize package to this year’s WSOP. The smallest jackpot prize is $2500 cash plus an iPad and you can win this jackpot by cashing in 10 PokerFest II tournaments.
