Caesars Interactive Entertainment who is the owner and operator of WSOP.com will launch real money poker within the State of Nevada on Thursday.
That means starting September 19, 2013 at 9:19am players within the state will be able to play on for real money on one of the most well known brands.
Caesars is hoping the WSOP live tournament brand will translate into online success.
One potential stumbling block for WSOP.com and others is the small player pool in Nevada.
It is the hope of players throughout Nevada and well as operators that a share player pool compact will be signed in the near future with New Jersey.
Mitch Garber who is the CEO of Caesars Interactive Entertainment had the following to say to PocketFives.
We are very big supporters of shared liquidity. Anyone who knows anything about poker knows liquidity is important, and a small state like Nevada could benefit from shared liquidity. It’s in everyone’s interest that there be compacts among states and shared liquidity.
It is certainly a very historic moment as when WSOP.com goes live they will be the second fully regulated online poker site in the entire USA.
Mitch went on to say the following about the launch.
This is a historic moment for our company. A state-of-the-art poker offering from one of the most established and regulated operators in the United States, is finally here. We have taken the 43-year-old World Series of Poker brand and combined it with the Caesars Entertainment portfolio of assets to provide consumers with what we believe will be an unrivaled poker offering to satisfy today’s technologically savvy consumer. We will bridge land-based and online gaming in ways that have never been seen before.
