Phil Ivey who is considered one of the best poker players in the world has decided to sit out this years World Series of Poker. You maybe are wondering why the world’s best player would even think about sitting out the biggest poker tournament series. Well, he has a really good reason. He is suing Tiltware who is the software and marketing arm of Full Tilt Poker. He is suing them for failure to pay out USA poker player’s online balances at the poker site. If you’re not aware he is a Full Tilt Poker professional and if you’re located in the USA you probably have seen him on TV all the time.
The suit was filed on Wednesday in Las Vegas on behalf of Phil Ivey. He is represented by David Chesnoff in the suit against Tiltware LLC.
Full Tilt Poker was recently indicted by the US Department of Justice. Soon after Full Tilt Poker and the DOJ came to an agreement to allow the facilitation of deposits back to players located in the USA. One big key hurdle to that repayment is the fact that the US DOJ has several key bank accounts of Full Tilt Poker under a freeze order. Full Tilt Poker has been active raising capital to help pay back players located in the USA. It is our belief that players in the USA will be paid.
