According to a press release by the United States Attorney’s Office out of the Southern District of New York a claims administrator has finally been appointed.
The company appointed is Garden City Group (GCG) which will serve as the sole claims administrator for USA players with funds locked up on Full Tilt Poker.
GCG has deep roots as a claims administrator with work being done on numerous complex cases such as Gulf Coast Claims Facility, the Deeptwater Horizon Economic & Property Damage, as well as the Visa Check/MasterMoney Antitrust Litigation.
Manhattan U.S. Attorney Preet Bharara said “The Garden City Group brings a track record of handling the administration of some of the country’s largest and most complicated settlements. With their selection, we take a significant step forward in the process of compensating victims of the Full Tilt Poker scheme.”
The US DOJ & Rational Group (PokerStars) signed a settlement agreement by which Rational Group would forfeit $547 Million to the US. Rational Group as part of the settlement also took over the assets of Full Tilt Poker and assumed Rest of World player balance liabilities. A part of the settlement monies will go to US player balances.
