Runner Runner is set to be released on September 27th, 2013 according to IMDb. The movie stars Justin Timberlake who plays an unsuspecting online poker player who finds out he was cheated. Ben Affleck also stars in the movie as a cynical online poker room operator who will stop at nothing to make money.
The film was written by Brian Koppelman & David Levien who also brought the poker world the cult class Rounders. Runner Runner is not the highly sought sequel to Rounders but instead is its own tale which focuses on online poker only.
The movie trailer almost seems as though it is based on the UltimateBet & Absolute Poker cheating scandal that rocked the poker world and eventually helped bring down the two sites after black friday.
The feedback so far on twitter has been mixed as their are defiantly a lot of people on both sides. Regardless, if you play online poker I think this movie is a must watch, either at the movies or by adding it to your netflix list.
